As part of the CAMINO project—"20 Years of Cultural Enrichment in Reunified Europe"—we are delighted to announce a special choral concert on Sunday, March 2, at the Great Hall of the University of Latvia. This event commemorates the 150th anniversaries of two eminent Baltic cultural figures: Lithuanian painter and composer Konstantinas Čiurlionis and Latvian composer Emīls Dārziņš.

This concert exemplifies the CAMINO project's mission to recognize and promote Europe's cultural diversity, fostering awareness of our shared history and values. By bringing together artists and audiences from different EU countries, we aim to strengthen intercultural dialogue and unity across the continent.

The evening will feature performances by the Vilnius University Choir "Pro Musica" (artistic director Rasa Gelgotiene) and the University of Latvia Alumni Choir "Jubilate" (artistic director Juris Kļaviņš). This collaboration not only honors the legacies of Čiurlionis and Dārziņš but also embodies the CAMINO project's vision of celebrating cultural uniqueness within a unified European framework.

In addition to works by the celebrated Baltic composers, the program includes "Via Crucis" by Hungarian composer Ferenc Liszt, symbolizing the harmonious blend of diverse European musical traditions. Organist Edīte Alpe and Aivars Smuidris, pastor of St. Martin’s Church in Riga, will also contribute to this enriching cultural experience.
