To mark the 20th anniversary of the 2004 European Union enlargement, seven universities in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia organised the Europe Day celebrations. All events took place simultaneously and featured a unified programme. A special event dedicated to Ukraine as the associated partner in the CAMINO project was also held in Riga, Latvia, organised by the University of Latvia Culture Centre.

Europe Day celebrations in all seven countries featured the national opening of the international student photo exhibition "Inspired by Europe" that was first displayed in European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium) on 15–19 April 2024. The exhibition included eleven works, each representing a country that joined the EU in 2004, as well as Ukraine as the EU applicant country and the associated partner of the CAMINO project.

The guests could also enjoy a dance performance "Ode to Joy", staged, performed and filmed by seven partner universities, providing different versions of the classical Beethoven’s piece that is the anthem of the EU. Besides, the participants of these celebratory events were addressed by university leaders and cultural stakeholders of each country.

Europe Day celebration took place in the framework of the CAMINO ("CAMINO – 20 years of cultural enrichment in reunified Europe") project's activity "Europe in Action".
